Reloaded sucked. Not just
minor suckage, but full blown suckage. The original Matrix was a fun film,
nothing deep (although it pretended), but some interesting effects, a pretty
good story line (even if the virtual reality angle has been explored before)
and Keanu Reeves proving yet again he
can't act. The latex clad girls were quite attractive though, and seeing
Carrie-Anne Moss in that outfit on an IMAX
screen was a highlight of a conference I spoke at in the US.
The latest outing had nothing, it appears as a simple excuse to use
"bullet time", have a car chase and throw some pseudo intellectual
pabulum to the throbbing geek masses.
"You don't know someone till you fight them", Morpheus's monologue to
Zion, where exactly was the thought behind that? We already knew from The
Matrix that Neo was now invulnerable. How exactly do you care for, or worry about someone that
has infinite power?
Another franchise bites the dust with the follow-up.
