It's common in Europe to import DVDs from the US, as all the films appear to get released there first and the DVD extras are usually more than the addition of French, German and Spanish subtitles. All you have to do is make sure your DVD player is not region locked.

The new US Terminator 2 "Special Edition" DVD has a high quality Windows Media Video version of the film on disk 2. No more ripping of DVDs if this takes off (not that of course anyone does that, it would be illegal <g>).

There's a big "but" however (please create your own Arnie over muscled joke). The WMV is protected with Windows Media DRM, something I know well (check your DRM setup). That's not unexpected of course, I'm sure neither Microsoft or MGM want it swapped on Kaaza. When the file is first played DRM kicks in and you go to a web site to acquire a license. The reported problem is that MGM are using this as a second chance to enforce Region Locking. If your IP address isn't in the US or Canada you don't get a license to play the content. Time to start looking for open HTTP proxies in the US then, assuming of course you have a PC capable of playing it ...
