Hugh at gaping void discovers that my MP, Boris Johnson has a blog. However he seems to be impressed that it's there, rather than it being useful.

I like Boris, he's the only MP I've had that's written back when I've emailed, however the Boris blog seems to be nothing more than another carrots on the relentless Boris publicity train. He has a grand total of two articles about constituency matters, one from this month and one from last month [edit: I had originally read this as Sept 2003, I was wrong, apologies]. The rest of the site is press releases, articles promoting his political views, but offering nothing to the people that voted him in.

He asks the blogsphere what rankles? I may be being selfish, but frankly I think that Boris should be asking the people that voted him into his seat what rankles before he throws it open to the world at large.

Hugh it's all very well Boris jumping on the blogging bandwagon, but until he starts addressing issues pertaining to the area he is supposed to represent the blog is nothing more than publicity and you believed it.

[update: 24-10] according to Tim Ireland, the "produced by" person, the site is only 2 weeks old and all the old content is stuff backdated and shoehorned in.

[update: 25-10] It appears I'm somewhat blind and got it very wrong, reading the September article as belonging to last year and thus ranting on the back of my poor comprehension skills. So poor Melissa has been trying to gently point out my mistake. So, if the site is two months old, and there are two posts about constituency issues, well actually that's pretty good and I am rather redfaced.
