The proliferation of various blog portals (for want of a better phrase) is getting silly, I only have four listed on the home page but there are easily 20 more. The effort to go around claiming your blog on every one is just too much. Are they rapidly become the equivalent of the old "web site x's pick of the day"? Does it mean that much to stake your claim on Jimbob's blog-search-o-rama. At least with technorati you get a small benefit in tracking links back to you, but it's very dependant on getting pings. blogstreet seems to be having problems these days and not enough people are bothering to tag their blogrolls. geourl is down right now but I just like the idea of having an ICBM meta tag, and blogshares is just weird. Really weird. As an added bonus it doesn't get anywhere near the number of incoming links I know exist, slightly annoying as vanity means I would like to see a higher share price. I did get a gift from a blogshares user, shares in his blog as a kind "welcome" gift. Of course if I link to him, his share price goes up. I have no idea what his site is about, it's in japanese, but I do like the photos from his phone. Understanding is not necessary?
