OK I'm impressed with Acronis TrueImage. The wife's laptop came back up perfectly (although finding where the hard drive was on her Portégé A100 was painful. It may be small, cute and girlie, but it was a pain to take apart, and of course once you have it apart you realise you could have got to the drive bay by undoing 3 screws, not 17). I have no idea how Acronis does it, how can they image a hard drive whilst Windows is running and not end up with a corrupted image as Windows changes bits on the drive, but it does.
