Oh good grief.

Right let me make this cascade of lottery spam clear.

IT'S A SCAM.

Lets think about this;

1) It's a spam. When was the last time spam told you anything legitimate? Just because it's not mentioning penny stocks or viagra doesn't mean it has some magically increasing honesty rating.

2) They ask you to reply to hotmail addresses, yahoo addresses, basically any free email address. Don't you think Microsoft staff use @microsoft.com addresses? Of course they do.

3) It talks about the end of year anniversary. I don't know about you, but around here that's on the 31st December, not the middle of June.

People think please. If you still insist on trying to claim your winnings, would you mind dropping me an email? I have a bridge I'd like to sell you.

This is a scam.

If you sent information like your passport you may well be at risk from identity theft. How this may affect you is anyone's guess, I would suggest reporting your passport lost/stolen. And not being so silly next time.

I just confirmed it's totally a hoax, scam, spam, or whatever you may call it.

I received the same email just recently saying I won such big amount ouf money, so I immediately asked my relatives in London, UK to verify the authenticity of such information. And fortunately, the address specified in the letter is just 2 blocks away from my relatives' residence, and they said the mentioned Microsoft office address is actually a residential address. They were also trying to call the given tel. no. but they just hang up.

Guys, next time, better try to be wiser than those crooks.

Hi, I also had received a similar mail and have now come to understand from the various views expressed by internet users cheated earlier that the said sweepstakers is a total fraud. it is indeed a question as to what exactly the fraudsters achive by doing so? It it may be pertinant to note that in all the WINNING NOTIFICATION the REF No, the SERIAL No, the TICKET No, Batch No. and the Lucky No. are all one and the same. Hope some sense prevails on us in future from getting fooled time and again.

look if anyone applied to this spam or any other then set up an investigation with your higher authority something like (FBI) or what ever your government may have over your local police. Or find someone who can trace the origin of the people who are liable for these actions the feaster you approach this the quicker the authority can trace this information. Also if it turns out to be a machine sending out the information set up by someone they can trace the manufactures and get information on the suspect.

This is one more version of the classic Nigerian Scam..

People just delete this mail and if you want more information about this type of scams search for email scams or email frauds on google..

I have received many such mails over the past few years and the simple action is mark it spam and delete it..

I have recived exact the same winner e-mail last week. I have wun 2.000000 british pound. They wrote from boat microsoftawardteam1 and Hsbc bank of London email - hsbc-remittancelforex-hsbc.net ect. Names like Directer for the bank Adams Downer - Joan Lungberg and Dr. Eddy Hon ! They claim 1250 britsh pound - to a incurance company -from me, before I could get my price.
I wonder how many people they have stolen money from ?? And I am sure that they realy do have the 2.000000 pound - illigally !!!!!

i have not lost anything to this scam except trust to microsoft. i have an xbox 360 and i am considering unpluging it so my life is not turned upside down. is there any way for someone to hack the 360 and still that info? i have a credit card # stored in it to pay for xbox live direct, can someone tell me it is safe to use my 360 live?! i notified the secert service in my area as soon as they asked for money. i am not rich in fact i am hardly above water now so i was looking for this to be real but as soon as they asked for money i wised up and knew it was time to contact someone other than microsoft because they have all these letters posted and yet it is still happening. i feel for the people who lost out but i am glad i didn't get in too deep before i drowned.

I also got a letter from micro soft and aol for winning and a check for $2100 to be used for my winnigs. I took it to my bank and asked them to check it out. They said it was flagged and if I could to call Wells Fargo, which I did an found out that the check is stolen. I hope they capture the crimminals who do this and then we should all sue them to get our money. How would they feel if we did this? Think of how much they have gotten away with doing stupid things if they would have used half their energy doing a legal job, it would have made them a millionaire by now.
