I've just had 3 invitations to join goowy.com, from the same person. So, yet another service that will run through your address book and email all your contacts. The marketing drive for this sort of behaviour is suicidal but typical, I can remember arguing with EMI that the default for "Sign me up to the mailing list" should always be false, but the relentless drive for numbers always beat my desire to play nice and gather quality subscribers.

Poor Adriana is already apologising to her contacts for the unwanted spam. She's in good company though; Joi Ito had the same problem last year with sms.ac. Of course I should point out that I wasn't one of those in Adriana's address book and I'm more upset by that than any spam. <g>
