First the book was finished. Then I got my exam results and my degree. And finally to top everything off I can reveal one of the worst kept secrets I’ve had over the last couple of months … That’s right I’ve been borged, taken the blue pill, sold my soul to the great Satan, however you want to put it; I view it as chance to go work on some software I’ve been excited about and with some people with huge pulsating brains and learn something new. Just checked twitter and instead of the fail whale I got something different … “This Web Site Has Been Hacked By Iranian Cyber Arm”. Oh dear. At least there’s no destructive payload, no virus installers, just the vandalism. Interesting though, they’ve managed to upload pictures to the twitter servers. There doesn’t appear to be a redirect or anything that would indicate XSS, something twitter has had big problems with. When I hit refresh it’s back to normal. I’m wondering if they’ve managed to get some servers but not all, which may point to cracking the servers...
My last exam results arrived. As of this morning I have been awarded a BSc (Honours) in Computing and Systems Practice from the Open University. Whee!
So about an hour ago the last edits to the proof went off to the proof reader, which hopefully means, after a year, it’s all done. You may be pleased to learn that, as I’ve taken so long, it will be published using the new, better quality paper and will not have my mug shot on the cover. (When discovering this my smart assed nephew said “That’s good, people won’t judge the book by its cover”.) Finally DDD rears it’s head again, fighting through swine flu and coughing it’s way into life. This free one day conference will be held on the 30th January 2010.
