And this is why I’ll miss the UK .NET community

A tight little bunch of nits … tightly nit bunch. I’d suggest if you’re waiting for the video of my DDD8 session you forget it. The good bits – the interruptions are below … Plip's Book Advert. Liam's Eulogy. Colin Mackay's new source of presentations. Craig Murphy insulting not one but two ex-UK community folks. It is with a heavy heart, for various reasons, that I’m boarding the Microsoft big white taxi from Heathrow this afternoon. Obviously I’m going to miss family, but the UK .NET community has been part of...

DDD8 – A Developer’s Guide to Encryption

Today was DDD8, the last DDD event I can do because the rules exclude MS employees from speak and in 10 days time I will be in that category. I presented “A Developer’s Guide to Encryption” (PowerPoint/Sample Code) running through the main options developers have in .NET for cryptography. (The powerpoint deck should have all the spelling checks fixed. I swear those weren’t there on Wednesday when I finished … but I can’t see how anyone could have knobbled it, so I must have just been very fat fingered!) I’m rather sad to leave DDD behind, I’ve presented at...

And I’m presenting at DDD

So I get to have my swan song at the end of the month at DDD8. I’ll be presenting “A developer’s guide to encryption” and, if they arrive in time to Computer Manuals I’ll also be signing my new book – but I’m not sure if I will have giveaway copies in time - Amazon gets first dibs on physical books, and I only get limited free copies, the majority of which have been spoken for. It is worrying I’m in the last slot of the day … I don’t trust Gary Short for starters and silly string has...

DDD8 Registration opens tomorrow

And if it’s anything like last year will close tomorrow too. So put a reminder into outlook to visit the DDD site and register from 13:00 onwards. Last year all the places filled in four hours … (And this year it was full in 15 minutes. Next year maybe you’ll slip into negative time, but I won’t be allowed to present *sigh*) Technorati Tags: DDD,DDD8

DDD8 Voting is Open

The voting for DDD8 sessions is now open. Don’t let the fact that this will be the last DDD I am presenting at influence your votes in any way. Technorati Tags: DDD,DDD8

DDD8 dates announced, call for speakers opened

Finally DDD rears it’s head again, fighting through swine flu and coughing it’s way into life. This free one day conference will be held on the 30th January 2010. As always it’s community speakers only, no Microsoft staff will appear on stage! So if you have a burning itch to present then now is the time to submit your session.
